Argentina has historically faced economic trouble with very high inflation and poverty rates. This was due to an inefficient government rife with corruption and nepotism, among other issues.
During Javier Milei's administration, a series of "chainsaw economics" policies were carried out. They included cutting government spending massively, merging and dissolving government agencies, deregulation of capital flow, as well as other measures. The present and future success of these policies are disputed.
